- Case study 2. Analyzing all strengths and weaknesses and then suggest the competitive advantages for a chosen firm
- Case study 3: Samsung Electronics – How should chairman Lee and the senior management team at Samsung react to the threat of Chinese competition?

Group working and requirements of role
Each case study for Group working will be in form of a Discussion. The class will be divided into 04 groups (G1, G2, G3 and G4 respectively) by Instructor to hold a game of “Strategic Management” through 3 hours of tutorials. Each Group will carry out 01 case study with “Discussion” role in below fixed order. Each case study or each Discussion will be participated by 02 groups. The non-discussion groups will give Feedback.

Requirements of different roles in the Discussion:
Present group plays a role of CEOS to analyze the strategic management problems, present solution, defend or give a model of decision making.
Rebut group plays a role against or clear down or specify or supplement the decision of Present group by making questions and statement.
Non-discussion groups: 1 group will be enacted by both of Discussion groups to play as “Chair” of the Discussion. The others have to give feedback after the Discussion.
Anyone fails to follow control of the Chair or fail to answer any questions will be deducted at least 5%
- PREPARATION PLAN BEFORE WORKING IN GROUPS
(taken by discussion groups only)
A preparation plan for the Discussion will be submitted to Instructor via email by 5.30 pm the day before group-working day.
Content: (i) Background of concerned firms/markets in the case,
(ii) Analyze Strategic Management issues and
(iv) Solutions/ proposed module of decision.
Anyone fails to submit this plan will be deducted at least 5%
V. EVALUATION
- Attendance: 10%
- Group assignment: 30%
- Final-exam: 60%
